Thrift Hunt Privacy Policy

1. Definitions

• “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to an identified or identifiable individual.
• “User Content” means photographs and other content that you submit through the Service, including photographs captured with your device's camera or selected from your photo library.
• “Service Providers” means the third parties that process information on our behalf to operate the Service, as listed in Section 7.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information. When you sign in using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive an account identifier, your email address, and, if you elect to share it, your name. If you use Sign in with Apple and select “Hide My Email,” we receive a private relay email address instead of your personal email address.
• User Content. Photographs you submit to identify an item.
• Collection Data. Items you save, together with their identifications, value estimates, and the details you enter, such as purchase prices, sale prices, and status. Collection Data is stored on your device as described in Section 5.
• Onboarding Responses. Your responses to optional questions presented when you first use the App, such as where you shop for secondhand items and how you intend to use them.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Information. Records of your interactions with the App, such as onboarding steps viewed, scans completed (including the general category of the item), subscription offers viewed, purchases completed, listings copied, and items marked as sold. Usage Information is associated with your account identifier. It does not include User Content, your email address, or the names of your items.
• Device Information. Your device model, operating system version, App version, and language settings.
• Subscription Information. Your subscription status, purchase history, and the number of free scans remaining in your account.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your precise geolocation, your contacts, or your device's advertising identifier, and we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Identify items you submit and estimate their resale value;
• Display similar items currently offered for sale by third parties;
• Generate listing drafts at your request;
• Administer your account, subscription, and free scan allowance;
• Analyze use of the Service in order to maintain and improve it;
• Provide support, maintain the security of the Service, and prevent fraud and abuse; and
• Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.

4. Processing of User Content by Artificial Intelligence

4.1 Item Identification. When you submit a photograph, it is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our servers, which forward it to a third-party artificial intelligence model provider for analysis. As of the date of this Privacy Policy, we use Google's Gemini models, accessed through OpenRouter.

4.2 Similar Listings. A reduced-size copy of your photograph and a text description of the item are transmitted to eBay to locate similar items currently offered for sale.

4.3 Listing Drafts. When you request a listing draft, the identification details of the item are transmitted to the artificial intelligence model provider. Photographs are not transmitted for this purpose.

4.4 No Model Training. We have configured our artificial intelligence processing so that User Content and other information submitted through the Service is not used by our Service Providers to train or improve their artificial intelligence models.

4.5 No Server Retention. We do not retain User Content on our servers after the applicable request has been completed. We will update this Privacy Policy if we change the providers that perform this processing.

5. Information Stored on Your Device

Collection Data, including the photographs of your saved items, is stored locally on your device. We do not upload Collection Data to our servers or create backups of it. Collection Data is removed when you delete it within the App, delete your account, or uninstall the App.

6. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell or rent Personal Information, and we do not use or disclose it for targeted advertising. We disclose Personal Information only as follows:

• Service Providers. To the Service Providers listed in Section 7, solely to the extent necessary for them to perform services on our behalf.
• Legal Requirements. Where required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid request of a public authority, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Starso, our users, or others.
• Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following Service Providers. Each processes information under its own terms and privacy policy, which are linked below. We are not responsible for the independent practices of these third parties.

Links to listings on eBay may be affiliate links through the eBay Partner Network. If you make a purchase after following such a link, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Once you leave the App, the third party's terms and privacy policy govern your use of its website.

8. Data Retention

• We retain Account Information until you delete your account.
• We do not retain User Content on our servers, as described in Section 4.5.
• We retain Usage Information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary to analyze and improve the Service.
• Purchase records are retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat as necessary for billing, tax, and legal purposes.

9. Your Rights and Choices

• Account Deletion. You may delete your account at any time in the App under Settings > Delete account. Deletion permanently removes your account from our servers and removes the Collection Data stored on your device.
• Device Permissions. You may grant or revoke the App's access to your camera and photo library at any time in your device settings.
• Reminders. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You may disable them in the App's settings or in your device settings.
• Email Privacy. If you use Sign in with Apple, you may manage email forwarding through your Apple Account settings.
• Additional Rights. Depending on your place of residence, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your Personal Information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, including with respect to Usage Information, contact us using the information in Section 15. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

10. Security

Information transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit, and we maintain commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Personal Information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International Data Transfers

We and our Service Providers may process Personal Information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it.

13. Third-Party Platforms

Your use of the App store from which you downloaded the App is governed by that platform's own terms and privacy policy, including the Apple Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time, including when we change Service Providers. The “Last Updated” date above indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of a revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of it.
